SUAB HMONG NEWS — There were two events held during the Labor Day weekend in Wisconsin. One held at Brown County Fairgrounds in De Pere, Wisconsin “Hmong Wisconsin Labor Day Sports & Festival”, and the other held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin “Hmong National Labor Day Festival”.

NengChue Vang, one of General Vang Pao’s son, opened and cut ribbon for the Hmong Wisconsin Labor Day Sports & Music festival at Brown County Fairgrounds in De Pere, Wisconsin. Blia Yao Lor and Dr. Yang Dao opened and cut ribbon for the Hmong National Labor Day festival at Ford Music Festival Park in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Spectators participated the two events almost evenly.

Spectators enjoyed variety of music entertainment by Chao Thao also known as 9 voice band and friends throughout the two days.
“I haven’t seen the singers that were on the flyer at the event, either I missed them or they were not there as expected” said Victor Vaj, News Correspondent for Suab Hmong News.
Hmong National Labor Day Festival:
Spectators enjoyed the Miss Hmong Wisconsin Teen pageants competition, the Hmong Traditional dance competition, and the Singing competition.
“The opening ceremony at the Hmong National Labor Day Festival brought back memories of the tradition of Hmong events in Wisconsin” said Richard Wanglue Vang, Executive Producer for Suab Hmong Broadcasting.
