2016-17 Hmong American New Year Celebration November 5 to 6, 2016

SUAB HMONG NEWS (11/14/2016) – 2016-17 Hmong American New Year held at Lee & Rose Warner Coliseum, St. Paul, Minnesota on November 5 and 6, 2016.

Dancing and Pageant competition were the feature attraction at Hmong American New Year.
Four men and three women competed in the pageant competition. 
Pa Nhia Vang won the title of the 2016-17 Miss Hmong American and Lue Yang won the title of 2016-17 Price Charming.
Lue Yang said Hmong parents must support their sons and daughters to pursue higher education so Hmong could advance their lives to the future.
Pha Nhia Vang said her goal is to find ways to help the orphan in the third countries.
“We had total of twelve pageant contestants, six men and six women, but as we were getting closer to the event, many cancelled out” said Nou Lee, Pageant Coordinator.
Hmong dancer group “Nkauj Ntxuam Dej” and “Phoenix” won the dancing competition in their category.
