More than 200 students from the Milwaukee public high schools area participated the summit.
Dao Vang, Senior Coordinator at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, said there are two goals for the summit.  One is to give opportunity to the high school students to explore what are out there in many colleges and universities so they could prepare themselves after they graduated from high school and second is to allow the high school students to explore from other students to inspire them to further their education.

Chia Vang, Student Services Specialist at Milwaukee Area Technical College, said the summit has been held for 16th years now.

Four students received scholarship from the Southeast Asian Youth Education and Career Summit.  They are Mai Lee Xiong, Dan Thanh N. Nguyen, Cheng Ying Moua, and Nqun Tha Dim.  Each received $500.00 scholarship to prepare them for college.
