2017 Hmong National Development Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

SUAB HMONG NEWS (04/25/2017) – More than thousand attendees at the 2017 Hmong National Development (HND) conference held 2 and half day in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from April 21 to 23, 2017.

The theme for the 2017 HND Conference called “Power of the past – Force of the future”.

“We have to look back and remember those that paved the way for us to be here today and we have to know who we are and where we came from. We need to work together to full fill our future” said Bao Vang, President and CEO of HND.

Yee Leng Xiong said event such as HND conference is very important for everyone and he recommended those that have not attend HND conference to attend it at least once in their life time.

“This is my first time here and it is good for everyone” said Yee Leng Xiong, Board member of DC Everest School and Board Supervisor for Marathon County.

Steve Ly, Mayor City of Elk Grove, CA, was one of the keynote speaker. Steve Ly indicated that Hmong girls are a head in education then Hmong boys.

“I believed that Hmong girls are ahead in higher education than Hmong boys. Hmong girls have the ability to advance themselves in all levels.” Said Steve Ly.

The 2019 HND Conference will be held in California.
