6-Year-old who drowned at Lake Elmo swimming pond Identified as Ghia Vue


SUAB HMONG NEWS (06/06/2017) – A 6-year-old St. Paul girl was pulled from the swimming pond in Lake Elmo on June 5, 2017.

A release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department identified the girl as Ghia Vue.  The release said the Ramsey County Medical Examiner will be conducting the official autopsy, and the results will be available in six to eight weeks.

The incident is still an ongoing investigation.

In a release Sunday, the sheriff’s office said deputies responded to the Park Reserve swimming beach in Lake Elmo after a report that a child had been pulled from the water and was not breathing.

Firefighters, police officers and other first responders attempted resuscitation.
The child was transported to Regions Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
