Top Chinese official says not wearing face masks is a big mistake in the U.S. and in Europe.

“The big mistake in the U.S. and Europe, in my opinion, is that people aren’t wearing masks.  Many people have asymptomatic or presymptomatic infections.  If they are wearing face masks, it can prevent droplets that carry the virus from escaping and infecting others.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said they are re-exam if everyone should wear face mask in U.S.  “We start to re-exam the possibility if there are enough masks, should everyone be wearing masks.  Those who try to protect themselves and those who try to protect others because they might be infected.  That is always a feeling that there is not enough masks so you got to prioritize them for the healthcare workers and those who infected but giving the information that we should have enough masks for everyone, I think that there is rational that we should utilize them much more than we use in the present time.”
