Milwaukee, WI — A Hmong committee, led by Anne Vang Lor in Wisconsin, held a Basi for Song Vang, Mrs. General Vang Pao. The Basi was held at the Oshkosh Convention Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on November 10, 2012.
Hundreds of Hmong individuals came all over the states to participate in the event.

Many distinguish guests included: Timothy Hanna (Mayor of the City of Appleton), Burk Tower (Mayor of the City of Oshkosh), Jessica King (State Senator), Representative from Ron Johnson (US Senator), and Tom Petri (US Congressman) all attended the Basi ceremony.
Burk Tower, Mayor of the City of Oshkosh, declared November 10, 2012 as the Ms. Song Vang Day in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Ms. Song was recognized by the distinguish guests as an idol for the Hmong community for her past experiences as a nurse, and an educator helping many people from sickness and hurt during the war.
Ms. Song Vang called for Hmong couples to strengthen their relationship to be a good model for their children and the Hmong Community. She also said that she is very happy to see the Hmong community gain more individuals with higher education and hold public offices throughout the United States.
Cheneng Vang, the youngest son of General Vang Pao, thanks all the participants and recognized Hmong Veterans for their bloodshed to pave the way for the Hmong community to have a better life.
