Candlelight Vigil for murder victims in Milwaukee, WI on March 13, 2016

Milwaukee, Wisconsin — March 10, 2016 — Milwaukee’s Hmong community is inviting everyone to gather at a candlelight vigil in front of the home where three people were killed on March 6, 2016, including a couple who were shot in front of their children.  Those who were killed in the triple homicide include Phia Vue, 36; Maikao Xiong Vue, 32; and Jesue R. Mans-Perez, 40.  The purpose of the vigil is to honor the victims, bring comfort to their families, and to give hope and support to the Vue’s four minor children.
Lo Neng Kiatoukaysy, Exectuvie Director of the Hmong American Friendship Association, stated, “We are deeply saddened by this tragic event, which has left four children orphaned.  We are here to support the Vue and Manso-Perez families.  This senseless killing needs to stop.”  Phia Vue’s father, Seng Her Vue, 89, shared, “I cry every day and night because my son and daughter-in-law are gone.”  Maikao Xiong Vue’s father, Chong Vang Xiong, 64, said, “My daughter graduated from college last year and finally had a good job to support her family.  She had a very bright future but that is all gone and now my grandchildren have no parents.”
The event will held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at 3330 S. 92nd St., Milwaukee, WI 53227.  invited speakers will begin the vigil at 5:00p.m.  Candle lighting will take place at 6:15p.m.  Organizers encourage the entire community to attend.
