Judge J.D. Watts make a ruling to wave Dan Popp to appear in court on July 14, 2016 based on the Doctor’s report on June 22, 2016 indicated that Dan Popp is still incompetent to stand trial.
“Talk about fairness, it is not fair because we know the way he (Dan Popp) acts tell us that he is competent to stand trial but there is the law so it is like a hole that he is now inside it and we need to work hard to pull him out to stand trial” said Mai Zong Vue, Spoke Person for the victim families.
Mai Zong Vue and her committee is working hard to seek financial from the communities to hope to have a private lawyer to represent the case.
There were more than 30 Hmong and non-Hmong in the court room on July 14, 2016.
The next court hearing is scheduled on October 21, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at the Milwaukee Safety Building, 821 West State Street, Milwaukee, WI. The court room will be announced.
