Dr. Jason Yu-Xioa Long, Guizhou Institute for Advanced Study in Anthropology and Ethnology, given speech at the HHR 2nd Annual Conference on Hmong History and Hmong Education in China on October 19, 2013 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Dr. Long said that right after many Hmong Ethic groups merged into the name “Miao”, Hmong tried to form a Hmong province in China but failed due to the lack of Hmong representatives in the high rank government official in China.

Dr. Long continued said that if you have higher degree education in China, you are less discriminate than those that have less or none education.  Chinese government as well as Hmong high rank officials support higher education in China for Hmong.
