Hundreds paid tribute to Col. Bill Lair in St. Paul, MN on October 3, 2015

SUAB HMONG NEWS (10/06/2015) — Over two hundreds Hmong and other ethnic representatives included Hmong SGU veterans paid tribute to Col. Bill Lair on October 3rd, 2015 at the Lao Family Community of Minnesota building in St. Paul, Minnesota.

LeePao Xoing, Professor and Director for Hmong Studies at Concordia University, said without Col. Bill Lair’s connection with General Vang Pao, most Hmong will not be in America today. “We must remember the agreement and the collaboration between Col. Bill Lair and General Vang Pao on January 3rd, 1961. If there wasn’t this day then there may not be today for all of us here in America…” said LeePao Xiong.

The Memorial Service for Col. Bill Lair make possible by many organizations included SGU National, Lao Veterans from all States in America, Lao Family Community of Minnesota, Wisconsin Lao Veterans (NaoShoua Xiong), Hmong 18 Council, and Hmong American Leadership Council.

There will be a burial ceremony service at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C. to rest Col. Bill Lair on October 15th, 2015. Hmong SGU and representatives from all over the United States planned to be at the burial ceremony.
