ICE arrests 83 people in Wisconsin in 4-day enforcement surge

SUAB HMONG NEWS (09/26/2018) – ICE arrested 83 people in Wisconsin for a four-day enforcement surge ended on Monday, September 24, 2018.

The arrested are in the following counties in Wisconsin:

  • Brown (9)
  • Dane (20)
  • Door (2)
  • Eau Claire (4)
  • Kewaunee (4)
  • Marathon (6)
  • Milwaukee (15)
  • Oconto (1)
  • Outagamie (3)
  • Racine (1)
  • Rock (5)
  • Taylor (7)
  • Trempelaeau (4)
  • Waukesha (2)

44 of the 83 arrested had criminal convictions and more than half had prior criminal histories. 16 of the arrested were “immigration fugitives” with no previous criminal convictions and 21 others illegally re-entered the United States after being previously deported.

The arrested were from either different countries:

  • Colombia (1)
  • Guatemala (6)
  • Honduras (2)
  • Mexico (68)
  • Nicaragua (3)
  • Russia (1)
  • Thailand (1)
  • Vietnam (1)

ICE outlined two people among the arrested as a 27-year-old man from Thailand convicted sex offender and a 27-year-old man from Mexico convicted for exposing his genitals to a child.  Both of them will stay in ICE Custody pending their removal from the United States.
