Correction for this article:
Correct--> Milwaukee, WI. On October 4, 2008, more than 50 Hmong representatives came from different states in the US to participate in forming a committee to find ways to help Hmong issues abroad.
Wrong--> SHR reported that this was an organization. It's a committee make up of people (volunteers) from participated organizations. If you have any questions, send your inquiries to us through "Contact Us".
Many Hmong organizations in the past had some kind of visions and missions to help Hmong situations in Thailand and Laos. Obviously, their successful missions and visions were very low because they lacked to educate Hmong community of their visions and missions and there were less supports from Hmong community. Yet, a new one seems to be on its way to the horizon. Its tentative organization name is "Hmong Diaspora". The big question "is this one going to make a different or just like the other ones?"
There were more than 50 Hmong individual drove and flew from different states in the US to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to participate in the creation of a new organization on October 4, 2008. SHR special coverage team was there to try to get permission to interview some Hmong individual to get their thoughts about the new organization and how it will help Hmong abroad but Steven Xiong, president of Lao Family Organization in Milwaukee, denied SHR special coverage team's requested and said that he and his group do not allowed any media coverage.
SHR feels that any Hmong organizations that depend on the support of Hmong community at large should at least open their mind to be able to educate their visions and missions to Hmong community. Hmong organizations similar to this one tend to be corrupted often. This makes Hmong community to have less supports and trust.
We hope to bring you more positive update on this organization in the near future.
