Soccer is the most popular sport in the Hmong community throughout the United States. Hmong community hosts soccer tournaments almost every weekend during the summer season. Winner gets price ranging from 1500.00 to over 5000.00 dollars.

A Hmong soccer team “Silencer” from Eau Clare, Wisconsin took first place at a soccer tournament in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on August 8 and 9, 2009.
“Not many Hmong soccer teams have the skills to play soccer these days. Most of them know how to kick soccer ball only. Silencer team plays soccer very well and they are very talents.” said Tou, one of the spectator.
Lao-Hmong summer festival is coming up in September 5 and 6, 2009. There will be many soccer teams coming from all over the United States to compete; first place will get $5000.00, second place will get $2000.00, and third place will get $1000.00. There will be other sports as well.
