United Hmong International New Year 2011 in Fresno, CA

By Richard Wanglue.  Fresno, CA -- United Hmong International New Year is another Hmong New Year Celebration in Fresno, CA, about six miles away from Hmong International New Year which held at the Fresno State Fairground.

Each car and each spectator has to go through detail search by Fresno police before entering to the event.  Suab Hmong and Hmong Report At 7 News team went through the same search.  The police search the car by looking at the trunk, under the seats, and look every where inside the car then search each of us by going through our legs, bodies, and arms. The time takes to search each car and person average about five to ten minutes.

Lee Cheng, President of United Hmong International, Inc., said that there were cars lining to get into the event from the event's gate to the freeway on the first day, December 26, 2010.  "The reason for the detail search is required by the Fresno Police Department otherwise they do not let us to hold an event here" said Lee Cheng.

There were nine Miss Hmong participated in the Miss 2011 United Hmong International Pageant.  Other competitions included soccer, flag football, and more.
