Hmong Teen A 17-year-old Wausau boy was charged Monday with three counts of second-degree reckless endangerment in connection with a weekend party that ended with three people being stabbed.

Marathon County Circuit Court Judge Patrick Brady set a $5,000 cash bond for Chia Meng Xiong. Wausau Police continue to look for two other suspects. Police were called early Sunday to Aspirus Wausau Hospital after three males sought treatment for stab wounds.

An altercation had occurred at 204 Edward St. in Wausau between several men who approached people inside a home there, according to a police report.

One of the victims described the knife to police as a “Hmong knife,” a butcher knife with a 12-inch blade.

An 18-year-old woman told police Xiong, her former boyfriend, asked her to come outside the house, but she refused. At least three teens exited the house and confronted Xiong and others, police said. The argument among the teens might have involved an Oct. 27 incident in which the woman’s car was vandalized.

The three injured parties each were treated and released by Monday, according to a hospital spokesman. Kong Lee, 17, was stabbed in the forearm; Vachiyeng Lee, 18, suffered a cut to his face; and Houa Thao, 19, received cuts to his hands.

Public defender Russ Van Skike, who represented Xiong for this court hearing, said the teen is on track to graduate from Wausau West High School in the spring.A preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 7.
