Mary Thao and YeeLeng Xiong are elected official in Wausau, Wisconsin

SUAB HMONG NEWS (05/05/2016) – Mary Thao and Yee Leng Xiong won their election on April 5, 2016. Mary Thao won her election to sit on the Wausau School Board and Yee Leng Xiong won his election to take the responsibility as a Marathon County Board Supervisor.

“There are nine Wausau School Boards in the City of Wausau to make and manage polices, guidelines, and other rules and regulations to ensure all Wausau schools meet State’s requirements” said Mary Thao.
 
“The responsibility of the Marathon County Board Supervisor included to ensure the Tax money spend properly for the needs of the county, to create ordinances and law to govern the county, and manage oversee the staff working at the county level” said Yee Leng Xiong.
 
Yee Leng Xiong said some of the goals he wanted to pursue for the Hmong community included find ways to help the Hmong Veterans, create opportunity to help teenager to stay in school and pursue higher education, and find ways to help Hmong and the mainstream families to have better life and make the Marathon County as their home.
 
The term to serve on the Wausau School Board is three years and the term to serve on the Marathon County Board Supervisor is two years.
