Xia Xa Vang (Txhiaj Xab Vaj), a former President of HSC, said that the reason for the election was because the current active President and Board of Directors did not held an election on November 2nd, 2013 for the community to elect the new president according to the by-law of HSC.   “Bee Lee created a new by-law not allowed the Hmong community to have voice on the HSC and let him continues the presidency forward… “ said Xia Xa Vang.

Bee Lee, the current active President of HSC, said that the reason he did not hold the election was because the Board of Directors approved him to continue his presidency for the next 2 years term.  “We do not receive any funding from the state and local… the only fund we have now are from the last two tournaments… now we are self-sufficient organization and we are not depending on any other funding… one of my next goal to seek ways to buy buildings for those that are in the low income under poverty level so they could effort to rent them… This was one of the item that led the Board of Directors to make decision to approve my next term…” said Bee Lee.

Vang Nao Pheng Yang, a former Board of HSC, said the reason for his resignation from the HSC was due to the new by-law that Bee Lee did not allowed them to be a part of the decision making process.  “On December 4, 2013, we came together to vote the new by-law… We arrived at the HSC office, Bee Lee did not give us the new by-law but he accused us (Moua Thao) that we were not supposed to take the new by-law and reviewed them… and for that we violated the HSC confidential law… then there were three of the HSC advisors, they took off for a short meeting and came back and told us that because we are against the HSC by-law and either we resign or they will fire us…” said Vang Nao Pheng Yang.
