Some members of the Hmong Tebchaws fired back and do not want to believe that Send Xiong has been arrested.
March 28, 2016, as the mainstream news media published their articles on the arrested of Seng Xiong, Suab Hmong News picked up the storyline and broadcasted it on the Suab Hmong News Channel on Youtube for the Hmong community. Some members of the Hmong Tebchaws spread a rumor to the Hmong community that Richard Wanglue Vang, News Anchor for Suab Hmong News, has been arrested because he made up the story and lied that the FBI arrested Seng Xiong. Richard Wanglue Vang and Suab Hmong Broadcasting put up an announcement on the Facebook Social Media to rebuttal the rumor.
“Some of the members of the Hmong Tebchaws do not understand how we get the news out to the public. All of our news, we verified them, make final decision on whether they will benefit the readers and viewers… it takes time to publish an article. Some of these particular members of the Hmong Tebchaws are reluctant to the news sources that are out there. I hate to say this but most of the members of the Hmong Tebchaws are the elder generation and some of them misguided by spreading rumors to their group. The truth will always be the truth. Suab Hmong News has been coverage news for the Hmong community locally, nationally, and internationally for more than 15 years and we know what we are doing.” Said Richard Wanglue Vang, Executive Producer and News Anchor for Suab Hmong News.
Richard Wanglue Vang added that Suab Hmong News will follow the case of United States vs Seng Xiong closely and will bring the latest development of the case to the Hmong community around the world.
“We are not discriminating anyone. We always focus on bringing the information (news) available out there that affecting the Hmong communtiy to the Hmong community around the world. Whether is Seng Xiong or someone else, we treat them the same as our information for our news. The key point is to let the Hmong community know what are happening out there and we are here for the Hmong community” said Richard Wanglue Vang.
As 03/31/2016, there is no court date set up for Seng Xiong at the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.
