Pa Ma Thao gets second term as the president of the Lao Veterans of America of Minnesota

SUAB HMONG NEWS (07/15/2017) — An Election held to elect the new president to lead the Lao Veterans of American of Minnesota (LVAM) on July 9, 2017 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Cha Yer Xiong and Pa Ma Thao were nominated by the members of the LVAM as candidates to compete for the race. Cha Yer Xiong said he is not ready to serve and he dropped himself from the election. Pa Ma Thao automatically elected to lead the LVAM for the next four years.

Pa Ma Thao said he will continue to honor the Hmong Lao Veterans monument and the tree planted by General Vang Pao and Hmong-Lao Veterans at National Arlington Cemetery in Washington D.C. Thao also said he will continue to work with the State and Federal legislatures to get the benefit bills pass for the Hmong-Lao Veterans.

Cha Yer Xiong is the vice president of the LVAM.

“I will be serving as the vice president for the LVAM with President Pa Ma Thao” said Cha Yer Xiong.
