Milwaukee, WI — Hmong pageant competitions become one of the most popular attractions at almost all Hmong New Year events here in the United States. SHIBC News interviewed Mr. and Miss Pageant contestants at 2012-13 Sacramento Hmong New Year celebration on how they felt and learned from the pageant competition.
Kao Na Herr, Miss Hmong California 2013, said that her platform during her title as Miss Hmong California is to help children that do not have parents (orphan).

Anna Vue, 1st runner up (2nd Place) Miss California 2013, said that she would continue to compete in the Miss Hmong Pageant which she did and won Miss Hmong International 2013 title at the 2012-13 Hmong International New Year celebration in Fresno, California.

Sheng Yang, 2nd runner up (3rd place) Miss California 2013, said that she does not regret by being 3rd place for Miss Hmong California because she used all her expertise to helps her winning.

Lu Herr, Miss Hmong California 2012, said that she learned on how to be patient in order for her to help the Hmong community and by being a good model.
See Lor, Miss Hmong Contestant, said that one thing she learned from the competition was that all the contestants were really beautiful and smart.
Fong Chang, Mr. Pageant Contestant, said that he won in a category by being good heart and did the ‘Hu Plig’.
