The 8-year-old girl told police that she was in the women’s fitting room trying on clothes and wasn’t wearing any pants when she saw a man on the floor in the stall next to her. She said he was looking under the dividing wall in the room where she was changing.
The girl said the man crawled into her stall, and she started screaming. She said he reached for her leg, according to the criminal complaint.
The girl’s mother spoke to police and said she heard her daughter scream, “Help, help, there’s a man in here.”
The girl unlocked the dressing room door and ran to her mother, and the suspect crawled back into his dressing room and locked the door, according to the criminal complaint.
Police knocked on the door and say the man refused to open it, so staff members unlocked it with a key.
Police say they found several condoms, condom wrappers, a razor blade and a Rice Krispie bar inside of a condom.
The man was identified as 27-year-old Bee Vang of St. Paul.
Vang has been charged with interference with privacy. If convicted, he faces up to two years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines.
