“Last year the organization reserved the park so we could not held our event but this year we found this park and I am glad that the Hmong community came out and support us” said Fai Dang Lor, Char for Lao Hmong National Summer Festival.

The event committee of the group HANLDWF presented a check of $1500.00 to Hmong 18 Clan Council of Wisconsin on August 31, 2013.  “The reason for the $1500 is that Hmong 18 Clan Council does not have any funding to support its functions so we do event like this one and the Hmong community came out to support us so we give our share to our Hmong 18 Clan Council so they could use it to support their functions” said Chong Vang Xiong, Chair for HANLDWF.

The two events raised some concerns and controversial for some of Hmong community leaders.  ” Holding two events at the same time like this is not good… we are only one group “Hmong” so we could just have one event…I know there are some differences between the two groups but we need to have a compromise and to hold just one event next year…” said Wachong Vang, one of the son of General Vang Pao.
