SUAB HMONG NEWS (12/01/2015) — 2015-16 Sacramento Hmong New Year ended with winners in competition of Miss Hmong California, Singing, and Dancing.

NengChue Vang, one of General Vang Pao’s son, was the keynote speaker to open and given a speech on the first day of the 2015-16 Sacramento Hmong New Year. NengChue Vang called for Hmong to united and work together to move forward.

Lily Vang won the title of 2016 Miss Hmong California. “Everyone came here to win. If you do not win, take it as experience and come back again” said Lily Vang.

HueChee Yang, 15 years old, won the singing competition. “I sing with my dad since I was small. When I heard this competition, my dad and my friends wanted to me to compete so I came here to compete” said HueChee Yang.

Hmong dancer group “Ntxhais Tshaj Yeej” won first place in the dancing competition. “We are so happy to win… this is our first time winning… “ said the lead of the dancing group.
