SUAB HMONG NEWS (12/03/2018) – Junior Vue, Chair of Milwaukee Hmong New Year (MHNY), said average about 20,000 spectators attended the two days Milwaukee Hmong New Year celebration held at Wisconsin Exposition Center, State Fair Park, West Allis, Wisconsin from December 1 to 2, 2018. “I do not have the exact number of the attendants but about average 20,000 spectators for the two days” said Junior Vue.

The keynote speakers were Zongsae Vang, newly elected president of Hmong 18 Council of Wisconsin, and Kristy Yang, first Hmong elected judge in America. “We do not have mainstream keynote speakers because we have many programs throughout the day and we wanted spectators to enjoy our programs” said Junior Vue, Chair of MHNY.
Dancing, Singing, and Miss Hmong Wisconsin competition were the three highlight main attractions for spectators to enjoy at Milwaukee Hmong New Year celebration.
Winners in dancing competition: Snow Flakes in Raising Division and Minnesota Sunshine in PRO division. There were total of 16 dancing teams.
Winners in singing competition is Vang Xiong. Total five people competed in the singing competition.
Nag Tshia Yaj won the title of Miss Hmong Wisconsin 2019. Total of five Miss Hmong competed for the Miss Hmong Wisconsin 2019.
