Karen Parker, Lawyer representing United Hmong Vision, said the International Community Human Right Council wanted to work with only one group from the Hmong community.
“When I said unified front, the international community is extremely leery about giving a people the right to self-determination. It is a huge step. If International Community Human Right Council sees division from the Hmong community that is automatic we won’t touch the issue. The International Community does not want to be working with one group rather than another group” said Karen Parker.
Richard Wanglue Vang, News Anchor and Executive Producer for Suab Hmong News, asked Dr. Lee Pao Yang, President of United Hmong Vision, on how he could united Hmong to one group to prevent drop off from the International Community Human Right Council as indicated by Karen Parker and Dr. Lee Pao Yang said the communication must go through the Hmong community.
“We wanted to have discussion so Hmong understand and know the truth. In the past, we make mistake and we wanted that to be lessons for us to learn and move forward. This time is different from some other times because we have the lawyer to follow the process of the law and we have the evident” said Dr. Lee Pao Yang.
There will be a public meeting in Fresno, CA on July 15, 2017.
