SUAB HMONG NEWS (07/17/2017) – Wachong Vang, 2nd son of General Vang Pao, and Vang Thai led a Hmong delegation from the United States to pay final respect to the Thai king Bhumibol Adulyadej who passed away on October 13, 2016. His son Maha Vajiralongkorn is now the King of Thailand.

The funeral service for the Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej will be held starting on October 26, 2017 in Thailand.
Vang Thai said Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej helped the Hmong inside Thailand by given them lands to live and farm. The King also allowed General Vang Pao and the Hmong fled Laos to live temporary in Thailand after the United States C.I.A. left the Hmong behind.
Wachong Vang, 2nd son of General Vang Pao, said many of the Hmong younger generation now a day may not know the history between the Thai King and the Hmong.
“I do not know how many groups from the United States came here to pay final respect to the King but I believed we are the first group from the United States to come here and pay our final respect to the King” said Wachong Vang.
