Pa Ma Thao, President of Lao Veteran of America in Minnesota, said the reason the group make the trip to Washington DC was to honor the Monument and the tree planted by the U.S. Government to honor General Vang Pao and Hmong/Lao Veterans on May 15, 1997.   Also, to call the U.S. government to pass the Lao Hmong Veteran Benefit bill to provide benefits to Hmong and Lao Veterans.

“After General Vang Pao passed away, everyone ignore to go and honor the monument and the tree in Washington DC. Now, I am the president of the Lao Veterans of Minnesota and I wanted to go and honor it” said Pa Ma Thao.
