Wausau Hmong Festival received total of $31800.00 from Wisconsin Department of Tourism and Central Wisconsin Convention and Visitors Bureau.

SUAB HMONG NEWS (05/03/2019) – On April 24, 2019, two checks total amount of $31800.00 presented to the Wausau Hmong Festival at Hmong American Center in Wausau, Wisconsin.  A check of $16800.00 from Wisconsin Department of Tourism and $15000.00 from Central Wisconsin Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Anne Sayers, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, said the $16800.00 grand will help the Wausau Hmong Festival in the area of promotion to get more spectators to the event.  “We are making a donation today of 16800.00 dollars… This grant will help fund outdoor, digital, and direct mail advertising to help bring more visitors to the event” said Anne Sayers.

Richard Barrett, Director of the Central Wisconsin Convention and Visitors Bureau, said part of the Wausau Hmong Festival game compete at the Badger State game.  “Yes, we have a grand check as well this year.  This is our third year on this one but I wanted to make sure this thing keep growing because this festival as Yee mentioned, we actually joining which is great… I know the Spanish soccer club is playing in your tournament.  We got everybody” said Richard Barrett.

Yee Leng Xiong, Chair of the Wausau Hmong Festival, said there are new changes at the 2019 Wausau Hmong Festival including expanding the night festival to have more activities and only one admission fee to get into both day and night festival.
