(SHB) – Za Blong Vang gave a speech at the Leadership Party for Naotou Lor on April 19, 2014 in Onalaska, Wisconsin. He indicated that General Vang Pao fought very hard for the Hmong people to qualify as refugee status. The refugee status then placed the Hmong people into the Refugee program to start a new life in the United States, as well to other countries, after the United States pulled out of Laos in 1975.

Za Blong Vang said that without General Vang Pao and all the Hmong Veterans, the Hmong will not have reached to where the Hmong are now, such as obtaining higher education, holding political positions, and living in the United States and other countries.

“I see on the Internet and on Youtube that some people talked about coming to the United States by themselves…that’s not true,” said Za Blong Vang.
