A Hmong Traditional Funeral held for Mai Vue, the wife of Phia Vue (couple killed by Dan J. Popp)

SUAB HMONG NEWS (04/13/2016) — A Hmong Traditional funeral service held for Mai Vue, the wife of Phia Vue (Hmong couple killed by Dan J. Popp) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 9 to 10, 2016.

Neng Wa Vue, representative of the Vue family, said the reason they held the Hmong traditional funeral service for the wife first is due to the Hmong culture to respect the bride’s family side.
“It is a traditional in the Hmong community that when both the husband and the wife passed away at the same time, a funeral ceremony service must hold for the wife first to honor the wife’s family” said Neng Wa Vue.
Dr. Vwjtswv Nruas Vue disappointed for what the Milwaukee District Attorney handling the case.  
“Is it fair for just having $150,000 bond set for this killer who killed three minority people?  The mainstream news do not wanted to cover the case because the killer is a white man and they do not wanted to label their own people but if there is a Hmong killed a white person, they covered it and broadcast it everywhere…” said Dr. Vwjtswv Nruas Vue.

March 6, 2016  Mr. Dan J. Popp killed a Jesus Manso-Perez, Phia Vue, and Mai Vue,
March 13, 2016 the Vue family held a candle vigil for Jesus Manso-Perez, Phia Vue, and Mai Vue.
March 18, 2016 the Vue and other minority organizations held a press conference at Milwaukee City Hall.
April 6, 2016 first court date for Mr. Dan J. Popp and the court make decision that Mr. Popp is  incompetent for trial and the court reschedule the trial to sometimes in July.
“Based on the result from the medical exam and investigations and at the crime scene, this killer is not mental.  He killed one bullet then finished up with two shots to make sure the victim died.  For Mai Vue, this killer sexual assaulted her then killed her in a mass killing situation” said Dr. Vwjtswv Nruas Vue.
