SUAB HMONG NEWS (04/02/2019) – A meeting held by five elder Hmong resident of Oshkosh to try to fix the long conflict in the Hmong Service Center organization. Currently, there are two presidents, Mee Yang and Chong Cha Xiong, with two Board of Directors governing the Hmong Service Center.

“The new elected group, Chong Cha Xiong and his group, requested us who are among the Hmong elders in Oshkosh to come up with a plan to discuss with the two groups to see if there is a possible way to an agreement to have just one group” said Wa Lor Yang, one of the 5 elders. The 5 elders are Wa Lor Yang, Nao Vang Lor, Chong Vang Xiong, Dang Neng Thao, and Chue Yee Chang.
At the meeting on March 30, 2019, Mee Yang’s group did not show up. Nao Vang Lor said the five elders’ job came to a dead end and nothing else that they could do to fix the conflict due to that Mee Yang’s group did not show up at the meeting. “I wanted to let the nine clans living in Oshkosh know that our position to try to fix the conflict between this two presidents came to an end. I wanted you to know that we cannot fix the conflict because Mee Yang’s group did not show up. If they show up, we know what we wanted to do” said Nao Vang Lor.
Chong Cha Xiong said he wanted Mee Yang to hold the next election as public election to allow all Hmong resident in Oshkosh to vote for the next president for the Hmong Service Center.
