Inauguration ceremony for Blia Yao Lor, the new elected president of Hmong 18 Council of Wisconsin


(SHB) — An inauguration ceremony held by the Hmong Election Central Committee in Appleton, Wisconsin on January 24, 2015 for Blia Yao Lor, the new elected president, and his executive team to lead the Hmong 18 Council of Wisconsin (HMONG18COWI) for the next four years.

Blia Yao Lor said his immediate plan is to get the “Mej Koob” to certify so they could officially sign marriage license.

Mao Khang, one of the new Vice President of HMONG18COWI, said that her team will look into the issues among the Hmong women with in the Hmong Traditional when one passed away and there is no proper burial.   “Our team will come in and fix the inside out…” said Mao Khang.

HMONG18COWI is the only organization from its kind that lead by elected official from the Hmong community at large in the country.

Among the participants was WaChong Vang, one of the General Vang Pao’s son.
