SUAB HMONG NEWS (02/01/2018) – After more than 39 years, Kangyee Vang went back to Laos and revisit the area he familiar with. “I live up there in the mountain for one hear and I lost my wife” said Kangyee.

Kangyee Vang said most Hmong hided in the mountain and tried to across the Mekong River from Laos to Thailand. Many people died due to hunger and shot by the opposition side.
“My self… I went to the farm and look for empty water bottles. I tied them together to help me swim across the Mekong River. Also I had to remember something on the Thai side like remember a tree to know which side I was going to” said Kangyee Vang.
Kangyee wanted to pass the story to his family members and everyone to know and remember the past.
