SeeXeng Lee, a Hmong Artist, said that events like this is very important to the younger generation to attend, so they can learn about Hmong history from scholars who took their time to do research on many topics. “I wanted to go to all the sessions because all of them are so important, but I couldn’t,” said See Xeng Lee.

Dr. Chia Youyee Vang, Associate Professor from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, said that events such as this one, is really important. “I am so happy to see many people attend this event… mostly the younger generation… I think by being educated and doing research are very important to keep our culture for the future… if we do not do research and have written documentation, someone else could write them or maybe no one will write them… so when the elders pass away, there is nothing left for the younger generation to learn from… that’s why I dedicated my life doing research to preserve the Hmong culture…” said Dr. Chia Youyee Vang.

Dr. Shoua Yang, Associate Professor of Political Science at St. Cloud University, said that the event is very important to not only the younger generation but every one of all ages.
