Unidentified gunmen shot at Hmong farmer in central Laos


SUAB HMONG NEWS (03/25/2016) – Late 2015, International News has been reported many shooting incidents in Laos.

On March 24, 2016, an anonymous report has been received at Suab Hmong News headquarter that there was unidentified gunmen shot at a Hmong famer group, 5 Kilometer from the Muang Ao area, injured one Hmong man.

The anonymous report indicated:

On the morning of March 24, 2016 at around 9:00 a.m.   A group of Hmong farmer (8 men, 2 children, and 3 women) was on their way to their farm.   One of the Hmong man from the group rode a motorcycle a head and the rest of the group were riding a farm truck behind.  As the Hmong man who rode the motorcycle approached the far end of the rice fields, an unidentified gunmen started shooting at him.

The group on the farm truck saw him and his motorcycle fell on the ground.

The unidentified gunmen then open shots at the group on the farm truck but luckily everyone fled back to the village safe.

After about two hours, the villagers and the Lao authority went to check the area where the incident took place and found the Hmong man who rode the motorcycle got shot but still alive and they brought him to the hospital.  He is in critical condition.

From November 2015 to March 2016, many international news have been reported many shooting incidents taken places in Laos.

This included the captured of 20 suspects who imported illegal weapons into Laos.  9 of the 20 are Thai citizen.

Many of the shooting incidents killed many people included Chinse Nationals in the Xaisomboun Province and Muang Kasi area.

Early 2016, United States Embassy inside Laos issued two warning to its citizen to not travel to the Xaisomboun province and the Muang Kasi area due to shooting incidents.
